protocols.io

Develop, discuss and share your research protocols.

protocols.io offers a safe place to manage your research protocols. It is particularly geared towards the life sciences but can be used in any discipline. You can create new protocols within the system or upload and digitise existing ones.

protocols.io

Protocols can be shared with other group members and external collaborators. You can edit concurrently and keep track of any changes that have been made. These features help ensure that the lab protocols are continually developed and improved, and that knowledge is not lost as research teams change.

The University of Edinburgh has a subscription to protocols.io, making it available to all staff and students.

protocols.io can be integrated with GitHub and RSpace. Long-term preservation is ensured through CLOCKSS.

Moreover, user-friendly mobile apps are available on both iOS and Android. These apps help make it easier to take the system into the lab, run protocols, go through checklists or update records, just like you would in a traditional lab notebook.
